Spotlight Series: 2016 Direct Support Professional Recognition Week, Day 4
All this week ASN is honoring our direct support providers. As we have introduced you to some of our most valuable support providers, you may have noticed some commonalities in the employees we have described. Good Direct Support Professionals are individuals who work hard, dedicate themselves to learning about and knowing the needs, wants, and desires of the individuals they support, and routinely go above and beyond to ensure the individuals they serve are properly supported. Today’s DSPs are no exception:
Esefanita Medina has been an employee of ASN for a year and provides supports to an individual who is a homeowner. She respects the importance of homeownership in his life and works hard to ensure that not only the individual but also his home is properly cared for and supported. Esefanita has even been known to take on home repairs and rehab projects to make sure the individual’s house meets the full definition of “home”.
Sheritta McFadden has been with ASN for almost two years and in that time has assisted the individual she supports to grow and develop in very positive ways. She has provided understanding and compassion that has facilitated significant improvements in social skills and social relationships for the person she supports. Additionally, Sheritta has proven herself to be a team player and stepped in to assist other individuals and their support teams during their time of loss.
Rhonda Mulanax has supported a number of individuals over the past five years. In every situation, she is caring, dependable, and brings a positive perspective to everyday interactions. She stays focused on supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals and has recently assisted the individual she supports to learn how to drive, pass the driving test, get his driver’s license, and become an independent driver.
Check back tomorrow as we close out our celebration of Direct Support Professionals at ASN by recognizing a few more of our amazing support staff.
